A Myanmar Delegation Visiting China 2025 successfully concluded a five-day official cultural and media exchange visit to the People’s Republic of China from 13 to 17 October 2025, covering the historic city of Nanjing and the modern metropolis of Shanghai.

The program aimed to strengthen mutual understanding, promote cultural exchange, and foster cooperation between Myanmar and China in the fields of history, tourism, and media communication.

Day 1: Arrival in Nanjing
The delegation departed Yangon on 13 October at 11:25 a.m. on China Southern Airlines Flight CZ3056 to Guangzhou, arriving at 4:15 p.m. Beijing time.
After completing immigration and transit formalities, members continued on Flight CZ3507, arriving in Nanjing at 11:55 pm .
Upon arrival, the group was warmly welcomed by local representatives and transferred to the Hampton by Hilton Nanjing Confucius Temple for check-in and a packed dinner.
Note: Myanmar time is 1 hour 30 minutes behind Beijing time.

Day 2: Historical and Media Engagements in Nanjing
After having a breakfast, the delegation began its program with a visit to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, paying respects and reflecting on the importance of peace and remembrance.
A Chinese lunch is followed before the group proceeded to the Nanjing Broadcasting System for an exchange visit. Discussions centered on media development, broadcasting technology, and future opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
In the afternoon, the delegation toured the Nanjing Museum, one of China’s leading cultural institutions showcasing ancient artifacts and historical collections.
The day concluded with a scenic Qinhuai River Boat Tour, offering a captivating view of Nanjing’s illuminated riverside district.

Day 3: Transition from History to Modernity – Nanjing to Shanghai
Following our breakfast, the delegation visited the Niushou Mountain Cultural Tourism Zone, renowned for its Buddhist architecture and tranquil natural setting. The name “Niushou” (literally “Ox Head”) derives from the mountain’s twin peaks which are said to resemble the horns of an ox. The mountain has a long Buddhist heritage: since at least the Southern Dynasties period it was a site for temples and Buddhist practice.

After an early lunch, members transferred to the Nanjing South Railway Station to board the high-speed train G9 (14:34–15:37) to Shanghai, experiencing China’s cutting-edge railway network.
Upon arrival, participants enjoyed a ride on the Shanghai Maglev Train, the fastest commercial train in the world, before visiting the Shanghai Tower, one of the tallest buildings globally and a symbol of China’s innovation.
The evening continued with a Chinese dinner and a Huangpu River Cruise, showcasing the glittering skyline of Shanghai. The group then checked in at the Novotel Shanghai Jing’an.

Day 4: Learning from History and Media Exchange in Shanghai
The day began with a visit to the Shanghai Songhu Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, where participants gained insight into the city’s wartime history and the resilience of its people. The memorial commemorates the two-major battles known collectively as the “Songhu” or “Battle of Shanghai/Songhu” engagements: the 1932 battle and the much larger 1937 battle of the same region.
After lunch, the delegation visited the Shanghai Global News Network, engaging in discussions on international media cooperation and digital communication.
The Shanghai Global News Network (SGNN) is a newly-established international communication centre under Shanghai United Media Group (SUMG).
It was officially launched on October 26, 2023, during the 10-year anniversary of SUMG’s founding.
The network aims to coordinate SUMG’s international communication resources and build stronger external communication and cultural exchange platforms
In the late afternoon, participants explored The Bund and Nanjing Road, two of Shanghai’s most iconic landmarks blending culture, architecture, and commerce.
A farewell Chinese dinner concluded the day’s program before returning to the hotel.

Day 5: Departure and Conclusion of the Visit
On 17 October, the delegation departed Shanghai early in the morning, boarding China Eastern Airlines Flight MU5814 (08:15–11:40) to Kunming, followed by a connecting flight MU2031 (13:10–13:55) to Yangon, successfully concluding the five-day visit.
Strengthening Bilateral Friendship and Cooperation
The Myanmar Delegation Visiting China 2025 provided valuable opportunities to experience China’s cultural richness, technological advancement, and dynamic media environment.
Through institutional visits, cultural exchanges, and dialogue sessions, the program deepened mutual understanding and reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between Myanmar and China.
This successful visit also reflected both nations’ shared commitment to expanding collaboration in cultural, educational, and media sectors, contributing to enhanced people-to-people connectivity and regional development.
