Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that those delaying the election process are those who are against the will of the people.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said this while addressing the newly formed members of the State Administration Council (SAC) at the meeting hall of the SAC Chairman's Office in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.

If there is interference with the stability of the state, the rule of law and the development of the socio-economic life of the people, it will delay the development of the country and the process of improving the socio-economic life of the people, Senior General said.

Senior General also said that such a delay will delay the whole election process that must be done to strengthen and restore the multi-party democratic system, which is the desire of the entire people.

Since the ultimate goal of the SAC is to hold a free and fair multi-party democratic general election, in order to successfully hold the election, efforts must be made to ensure stability and peace throughout the country, he added.

In addition to this, the SAC Chairman said at the meeting that efforts are being made to ensure the right to vote without any gap between the people of the country.

It is the government's responsibility to ensure that all eligible voters have the right to vote, and that even though it is difficult to hold 100 percent of elections successfully, need to ensure that the people do not lose their right to vote, Senior General highlighted, according to press release.

Regarding the rights of the ethnic groups, the Senior General also said that as the same rights have already been given in the constitution and also paying attention to the development of the ethnic areas.

Senior  General Min Aung Hlaing also said that impartial peace meetings and discussions must be carried out seriously.

There are different characteristics according to ethnic groups, therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the opinion of a minority of people, as it must be done according to the consensus of the region and the majority, and not on the basis of individuals and ethnicities. as stated in the press release.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Senior General Soe Win, Secretary of the Council, Joint Secretary and Council members.
