The Chairman of Myanmar's State Administration Council, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, stressed that the rights to self-administration and autonomy should be discussed and approved through political dialogues within the Hluttaw. He emphasized that resorting to armed methods to assert these rights is not acceptable.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing addressed attendees at the committee meeting on Security, Peace, and Stability, as well as Rule of Law, convened in Nay Pyi Taw on January 26, 2024, as stated in an official press release.

The Senior General emphasized the ongoing challenge of pursuing rights to self-administration and autonomy for states and regions outside the established legal framework. He stressed the importance of ensuring that actions are in accordance with established laws and rules.

Senior General cautioned that the Constitution of 2008, endorsed by voters with a majority approval of 92.48 percent, is binding, and no actions can transgress its provisions.

Moreover, he added that the State Administration Council (SAC) is adhering to the principles outlined in the 2008 Constitution while governing the country.

Moreover, the Senior General provided details about the Public Security System during the meeting, underscoring its importance. He emphasized that achieving objectives related to security, stability, and rule of law relies on the unity and solidarity of all public administrations and security personnel.

He stressed the importance of identifying terrorists while ensuring informant confidentiality. He further emphasized the need for a systematic implementation of the Public Security System and the execution of the Public Defense System through it.

SAC Joint Secretary Lt. Gen. Ye Win Oo, Council members Admiral Tin Aung San, General Yar Pyae, U Wunna Maung Lwin, Daw Dwe Bu, and Mahn Nyein Maung, along with Union Ministers and other senior officials, attended and discussed on the issues.
