The Union Government has been reshuffled and reorganized on Thursday ( August 3) by SAC Decree No. 61/2023. According to the decree, Prime Minister General Min Aung Hlaing and Deputy Prime Minister Lt. Gen. Soe Win continued to lead, and the ministries headed by Deputy Prime Ministers, Gen. Tin Aung San and Lt. Gen. Mya Tun Oo, were altered. General Tin Aung San became the Union Minister of the Ministry of Defense and General Mya Tun would be the Union Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Communications . Union Minister of Foreign Affairs U Than Swe has been promoted to Deputy Prime Minister in addition to Foreign Minister post, and there are five Deputy Prime Ministers.
The former Union Minister of the Ministry of Hoe Affairs , Lt. Gen. Soe Htut was transferred to the Ministry of Union Cabinet Office (1), and Lt. Gen. Ra Pyae took over as the Union Minister of the Hoe Affairs
Former Union Minister of the Ministry of International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing has become the Union Minister of the Union Government Office Ministry (2). The Ministry of International Cooperation is not found in the list of government ministries in the decree.
Nay Pyi Taw Mayor U Tin Oo Lwin was reassigned as Union Minister of Religion and Culture. U Nyan Tun as the Union Minister of the Ministry of Electricity, U Ko Ko Lwin as the Union Minister of the Energy and U Myint Naung as the Union Minister of the Ministry of Labor were newly appointed.
Union Minister of Social, Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khaing was transferred to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Dr. Soe Win was appointed as the new minister of SWRR .
